Zach Zabetka

Student Director

I came to saving faith in Jesus Christ at Camp Horizon when I was 10 years old. I grew up at Living Word Church starting in the children’s ministry and going through youth group. I started to flourish in my relationship with Christ during my high school years in youth group, digging into deep questions of salvation, reliability of the gospels, and apologetics (the defense of our faith).

I currently lead the Youth Ministry and the Young Adults ministry here. In December 2022, I graduated from USF with my Bachelors of Fine Arts in sculpture focusing on ceramics. I never really thought of leading ministry at the church until I was asked by Pastor Joey to lead the Youth Ministry. After much prayer, I accepted the position and love what I do at LWC now. Leading ministry is something I may not have thought of doing but now that I can guide students to a relationship with Jesus. It is the most important thing to me, and I can not imagine doing anything else.

FUN FACTS

I make functional work on a potter's wheel, such as bowls, plates, cups, mugs, etc.

I went to one of the highest points in the Rocky Mountains, "Pikes Peak" 14,115' above sea level.

I got to go rock climbing and Aussie rappelling which is where you walk/run down the cliff rock wall facing the ground.

Out of all the animals God created, snakes are by far my least favorite.

I love anything and everything chocolate, so if you want to get on my good side dark chocolate is a good start 😉
